Write a Letter

In 1981, a United Nations resolution was passed that made September 21 the International Day of Peace. Writing letters for peace is a simple, but powerful way to let people in your community know about the International Day of Peace. Choose one of the following people to write to, then draft your letter.

When you write your letter, state your reason for writing, you may even want to include an explanation about Peace Day. Remember that you want someone to take action, so be sure to use language that is persuasive.

To find out more about the International Day of Peace, visit the United Nations' Web site.
